The Stockholm experience

Hey friends,

If you haven't seen it yet: My first ever finished YouTube video is now officially on YouTube.

I was talking about the “Why” of going on an adventures a lot. Or in other words: What are the benefits of going on one?

So, what was my inspiration to make this the first video?

I was in an internship in Stockholm that was 4 weeks long with 11 other guys from my school. I have evolved a lot during this time, and I got to learn a lot of cool new things. On top of that, I just wanted to start with YouTube, and because being in Stockholm was convenient for a first test shoot, I did exactly that: A video about an experience I was having, while just casually making B-rolls. To be honest, I didn't really know yet what I was doing. For my next video, I'll definitely use a well-structured, thought-through script.

The main point of the video is to bring you across why you should travel and have this “pattern interrupt” in your life.

But here in this blog, I have decided to give you some bonus content: I'll tell you some things that I experienced in Stockholm

Sweden is a super cool country, and Stockholm, a super cool city. I had a lot of things that were new to me, like daily cooking for ourselves, making your own clothes weekly and the fact that 100% of your responsibility relies on you! It was such a great experience to once be in a country more or less on your own, and it certainly enhanced my skill set.

On top of that, I had the chance to work there. I found FIKA very fascinating (having a 15-20min break in the morning or afternoon with coworkers, where nearly everyone attends!). Sweden is so far developed regarding work-life balance, and it impresses me. Also, your time isn't strictly controlled: Do good work and you'll be fine.

What made the experiences even better tho were how I planned my evenings and weekends. I did a lot of things, and used Sweden as a kind of Trial and error month for myself. Here is a small list of things that I did:

  • Go karting
  • Dance class on Hip-Hop & Bachata
  • Singing lesson
  • Trip to Oslo
  • Trip to Gothenburg
  • Swimming in the sea (13 degree, way too cold, trust me)
  • Visiting the Vasa-museum
  • Visiting the Avicii Musuem
  • Photo shooting at Gamla Stan (old-town of Stockholm) at night
  • Trying out Shuffleboard (fun game)

Oslo is the coolest city I've been in a while, and it was even better to meet some friends there, that did the Transformation Mastery Certification with me! And in Gothenburg, I grabbed some burgers with one of the head coaches from JulienHimself! I fell in love with singing, it was super fun to be able to express yourself in such an artful way, and I loved the Bachata dance a lot. The coolest thing about Bachata is, that it's a social dance: You rotate between dance-partners all the time, which rocks!

Swimming in the sea was fun, and I suck at Shuffleboard, but it's fun.

I used the word fun a lot, because this is the best way to describe my 4 weeks: I learned a lot, and it was a lot of fun!

I loved Stockholm a lot, and I hope you'll be able to have such an epic adventure yourself!

The Reveal

There is a reveal upcoming regarding my coaching(s) that I'll be doing soonly. Stay tuned!

Song of the week

I listened to it during my 4 weeks in Stockholm on repeat, and it was the song that I sang during my singing lesson. It has to be this one.
