(Mini) Breathe air
Hello friends,
Today, I will be introducing a new type of blog post to you: The Mini-Series. I feel like that many people just don't have the time to read a long and heavy blog post every week. Even tho I like to write, and I understand the value of this blog post, many people just don't have the commitment. So for the lazier ones of you, I got you covered with this new series: In this series, I am going to give you something small to read and to learn from. Easy to read, easy to do.
Today I am going to introduce something to you, that is incredibly powerful. You will love it.
Reality Check
I'm trying to introduce a new routine: I want to once in the middle of the day take myself time to just breathe.
I'll call them the "Refocus breaths".
Do you know the feeling when you are under constant stress or pressure? I certainly do.
During these times, it's so easy to just get sucked into a tunnel and forget the bigger picture: The pressure starts breaking you, the work seems never ending and you feel overwhelmed.
This is why I want to do something new: Once in a day, when everything seems to go downhill, I want you to search a calm place (go outside, to the bathroom, in a quiet room etc.) and just breathe. Take 10 deep breaths while your eyes are closed. Your focus should be on breathing. If a thought comes up, don't fight it, just accept it, and then focus on breathing again.
With that, you will never lose focus again and can instantly calm yourself down during some hectic situations.
Let's do it right now: Take 10 "Refocus breaths". After that, you already completed today's session. Don't skip it, else you won't feel the benefit.
